An important guiding principle in the IB Diploma Programme is that students develop into well-rounded individuals through volunteering outside of school and the classroom. All IB students therefore take part in a CAS programme in which they participate in creative, athletic, and social activities and document their involvement in a portfolio. The following goals should be achieved:
- To discover one's strengths and potential, and to accept challenges.
- To plan and initiate projects as well as group cooperation.
- To demonstrate perseverance and commitment.
- To think outside the box.
- To question the ethical side of your behaviour.
